You can probably ask anyone in the gym if they remember their early days in the gym and they will most likely think back to that first day - walking through the doors and not having any idea of what to do.
My journey started the exact same way - not even past reception and feeling totally out of place and like everyone can see that I've never been in a gym before (it didn't help that the weightlifting area, packed with the strongest people in the gym, was right behind reception either).
